Booking Talent for the NBAA Trade Show
Thursday, 30 August 2012 08:37

PPG prides itself for booking “the most experienced models and talent with the best personalities”. Each model or spokesperson has a special talent. Some people have proven to be exceptional at multiple specialties through training and practical applications of their abilities and skills. Others are better informed of company products and services from having worked previous shows and over time interact more with the company personnel.

For over 19 years, the leading provider for trade show models, hostesses, demonstrators, presenters, and crowd gatherers for trade shows, exhibits, and special events, the Preferred Promotional Model and Talent Group (PPG), helps companies place a competitive advantage into their presentations. In some instances, PPG uses bilingual talent helping to cement deals and relationships with professionals from other countries like Korea, Japan, China, and Spanish-speaking nations who may not speak English well.

Says Cindy Latch, PPG demonstrator and Presenter: “As a Trade Show Presenter, I have worked the show floor for over a decade at the LA Convention Center, McCormick Place, Dallas Convention Center, Jacob Javitz Center, Cobo Arena, Georgia World Congress Center, and every other Arena where Trade Show attendees come together. What I have found is that they all have one thing in common…. They want solutions from someone who is truly informed. And I mean, "Good Solutions" from someone who is truly knowledgeable about their specific industry.

“Being a presenter, "Live" on the show floor gives me an opportunity to interact with the attendees, up close and personal. I have a chance to present information that may really help with their business, as well as present my client’s Corporate Message.

“I have found that the response I normally receive is, "Where do you office out of?", "How long have you worked for the company?", "Wow! You know a lot about the product line", then I am usually inundated with lots of industry specific questions regarding my client's Products.

“The floor is very exciting for the "presenter" because each audience is different and unique for every performance…and each performance must connect with that new audience, every single time.

“Over time I have learned how to connect with the audience. My strengths lie in my ability to adapt quickly to my environment. I have a "go with it" type personality that enables me to complete a task and make it look easy. Being an actress doesn't hurt either. Let's face it, sometimes things will go wrong. The carpet has a bump in it right where the crowd needs to stand during my presentation, the lights on the display just won't work, the clicker for the slide presentation, just won't click. I play the role I am given, whatever that role may be.

As a good presenter, I must also educate myself about the company I will be representing. Knowing little things, like, Joe from Houston is now handling alliances for the Southwest, or the new product line for 2013 can be seen offsite if they ask Beth for the tour. Being on the show floor is always exciting and informative for everyone involved, if the right people are in place.”

We are the leading provider for tradeshow models, hostesses, demonstrators, presenters, and crowd gatherers for trade shows, exhibits, and special events.

The Preferred Promotional Model and Talent Group is helping businesses put their products and services in front of thousands of customers at trade shows, with a competitive advantage.

“Working on the trade show floor is always a lot of fun, the energy is high and the aspiration of the various clients to expand their businesses is extremely motivational,” says Deanna Meske.

“I work in a few different areas when I work at trade shows; sometimes I'm a lead generator or crowd gatherer and when I wear these hats I'm very aggressive, always striving to beat last year’s numbers. Actually I have always exceeded the prior year’s numbers and that is really my game when holding down those positions. I also like to help people have fun, love to make them laugh and make my booth stand out. I also work as a presenter at trade shows. I love the interaction with the crowds and meeting the people before and after each talk. I try to personalize things as much as possible. Although I'm using my ear prompter, I like to really learn the script and the basics about the company and products so that I can have something to fall back on should there be a technical failure and I needed to improvise the speech.”
